Palm Springs Desert Modern
Nestled at the base of the San Jacinto Mountains in an enchanting olive grove, this desert modern scheme was inspired by the energizing escapism of the Coachella valley. The refined interiors provide comfort and respite from the intense heat of the valley, with modern marvels offering a nod to the Mid-century Modern history of Palm Springs. To counterbalance the crisp new construction, we took our cues from the great wanderlust of the world, with art, antiques, and decor procured from five continents.
Serving as a seasonal vacation home for a delightful couple and their two young sons, we were tasked with a turn-key design service, fully furnishing and outfitting the abode. Sustainable, family-friendly textured neutrals were paired with modern forms providing a restrained foundation for the occasional pop of color inside and out. The Jacuzzi is the main attraction for this active family, so a sixteen foot sliding glass wall opening onto the pool deck accommodates indoor-outdoor living at its finest with views of the mountains just beyond the palms and dunes.
